In July, myself, my husband Neil and our dear friend Susan Yule completed The Road That Brought Us Here, a charity walk that took us some 150 miles from The Bluebird Boutique in Stanhope, County Durham, to Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.
What began as a challenge inspired by our shared love of country music became something much bigger than the miles themselves. Over nine days, we walked through tired legs, sore feet, laughter, tears and some very special moments, all with one purpose at the heart of it, to raise money and awareness for causes supporting mental health, wellbeing and those who may be struggling silently.
The walking may be over (for now) but the fundraising isn’t. Our fundraiser remains open until October, and every donation, however big or small, will continue to support the charities that inspired us to take those first steps.
